All of life is ceremony. Through conscious ritual we rebuild relationship, with the elements, ourselves, our ancestors and each other. Ceremony becomes a form of art and meaning-making that restores sovereignty, creativity and balance within ourselves, with each other and with the world around us.
There's a part of you that has never forgotten life is a ceremony. Ceremonia is a seven-month initiation and creative apprenticeship, a space to remember, and to build a life that knows itself as sacred.
The thing that lives beneath the noise of the ordinary day, in the moments you pause before a meal, in the way you turn towards a sunset without knowing why, in the ache you feel when something is happening without being truly honored or respected. That part of you has never forgotten that life itself is a ceremony, and that ceremony shows us all about life.
Ceremonia, the Spanish word for ceremony, speaks to the truth that every breath, every act of tending, every conversation with the wind or the fire is part of one great ritual. It is the circle that calls that knowing forward. This container is both an initiation and a creative apprenticeship, a space where life itself becomes the ceremony.
Imagine sitting before an altar you built with your own hands, a candle lit, sacred waters nearby, objects that carry meaning gathered from your life and your land. Something opens the space. You feel it move through you before you understand it. The breath in the room shifts. Something settles. Something ancient wakes up. This is what ceremony feels like when it is lived. This is what you will experience being in and creating.

It is the art of living as prayer. Of making beauty where your hands meet the world. Of weaving, thread by thread, moon by moon, a life that knows itself as sacred.
Who This Is For
Ceremonia is for the seekers who wish to deepen their connection to the natural world (NOT PLANT MEDICINE), the healers, the creators, counselors, and the leaders who know that the next way of living and serving must be rooted in something deeper than what we have been given.
It is for those on their own personal healing path, ready to go deeper, to live more intentionally, to bring ceremony into the fabric of their daily life.
And it is for those who hold space for others, who sense that something essential has been missing from the conventional tools of their practice, and who are ready to bring the living medicine of ceremony back to their communities, their clients, their families and their work.

Relationship itself is a healing modality. Ceremony is how we remember that. You don't need to come with experience. You need only come with the willingness to feel into life and be open to what it reveals.
The Journey You Will Enter
​Ceremonia is held within a container opened and closed in person.
We begin together with a ceremonial gathering in New Hampshire in September 2026, where we are met together, in community, hand in hand with the elements learning their way of supporting us. Not only on the outside, or spiritually, but in the body, in the land, with the fire, the water and the wind. This is not an orientation. This is a beautiful, and powerful invitation… and initiation.

The first teaching is Medicine and we aren’t referring to plant medicine, we mean anything that restores you to balance… peace… or to the feeling of being in support of something in need, knowing that what you need is always around you. A song can be medicine. A fire tended with love can be medicine. A moment of genuine stillness, a prayer, a conversation held with presence, these are medicine. And the deepest medicine of all is the remembrance that you carry the ways of accessing this “medicine” deeply within Because when you arrive with your whole heart, your full attention and your genuine care, you are medicine to the world around you.

This is where we begin. In the teaching of wisdom and discernment, learning to recognize what restores you, learning to turn inward before turning outward, learning to trust what you find there. You will not arrive and be told what ceremony is. You will enter ceremony and know it from the inside. By the end of our first gathering you will already know what ceremony feels like when it moves through a group. That knowing becomes your compass for everything that follows.
Over the next seven months we gather every Tuesday evening online from 7–8:30pm, a living community moving together through the seven elemental teachings. Each month carries its own teaching, guiding connection, and its own invitation to go deeper. Together, you will create your own ceremonies, for personal, or intimate use, guided in co-creation with the elements and the helping spirits who walk with you. An integration week closes each month, giving the medicine of your work time to settle deeply before taking the time to nestle further into your bones and to become truly embodied.
In the seventh month we turn outward together. The teaching of Heart and Community is where everything that has been awakened in you meets the world. You will receive guidance in group facilitation and ceremonial leadership, learning how to hold space for others, how to tend the field of a group, and how to bring ceremony into your practice, your family, and your community with integrity and care. This is where the personal becomes the collective. This is where what has been woven in you begins to weave the world around you.
We close as we opened, together in person again, but this time for a retreat in New Hampshire in April/May 2027, where what has been woven over seven months is witnessed, celebrated, and released into the world.

Your Ceremonia Book
This program does not offer you a written manual, because ceremony is always novel. The teachings come through as a result of lived experience, and you will create your own book and record them as they arrive. The prayers, the images, the stories that arise from within sacred space will be guided by spirit, with you as the channel. By the end of our time together you will hold in your hands your own book of medicine, a record of how you remember, written in your own hand, alive with your own power.
The Braid
There is an old teaching that lives in the act of braiding sweet grass, that the braid is not made before the weaving begins. It is created in the act of coming together. Three strands, each complete on their own, becoming something stronger, more beautiful, more alive in their union. This is the structure of Ceremonia.
Over seven months you will be woven into relationship, with the elements, with the helping spirits that walk with you, and with the people who journey alongside you. These three strands become the braid. The community you build, the ceremonies you create and the living wisdom of the earth itself are not separate from the program. They are the program. The bond is the structure. The relationship is the medicine.

Liz Disterhoft, LICSW
Liz is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Spiritual Coach, Healer, and Ceremonialist who brings vision, compassion, and a profound healing presence to everything she holds. She carries the gift of seeing, of receiving wisdom and weaving it into beauty, into teaching, into lived experience that opens hearts and awakens what has been sleeping. Drawing on her training as a therapist and her deep practice as a ceremonialist working with the elements, Liz creates spaces where transformation is not just possible but inevitable. Travis Preston
Travis is a ceremonial guide, breathwork facilitator, and trauma-informed healer whose presence is like the earth itself, steady, deep, and completely trustworthy.
